Gas Business Analysis and Planning System
The PSIGaps Gas Business Analysis and Planning System, developed by PSI's subsidiary PSI Büsing & Buchwald GmbH, was initially developed for the VNG Verbundnetz Gas AG in Leipzig. The system has now been in commercial operation since the beginning of 2002.
The major tasks of PSIGaps include:
- Provides methods for the commercial planning of gas purchase and sales (e.g. flow and grid balances; flow, demand and price sensitivity; minimum price determination; cost considerations; margin analysis)
- Determines the most cost-efficient operation of contracts taking given terms and conditions into consideration
- Initialises analysis and procedures for the evaluation of purchasing and sales projects
- Provides tools and analysis procedures for the financial evaluation of past and present contracts
- Management of excesses and shortages for the mid and long term
- Tools and procedures for storage validation
