Revision and Calibration of Gas Measuring Instrumentation

The revision and calibration of intruments is a process that distribution operators need to perform to ensure the accuracy of all billing related gas measuring instruments. This must be done to minimise measurement errors and the associated commercial risks.

In order to obtain agreed inspection results both parties must agree upon a set of standard procedures which is difficult when the revision and calibration of measuring instruments is conducted from differing locations. Furthermore the ability to gather and analyse long term trends is dependent upon having a complete record of all measurement data.

PSI has therefore developed a standardised system for performing the revision and calibration of remote gas measuring instruments and the collation of the resultant data.
