New Orders and Result in 3rd Quarter Increases Again
Berlin, 10 October 2007 - In the 3rd quarter of 2007, the PSI Group increased its new orders by 11% to 31 million euros compared with the previous year (3rd quarter 2006: 28 million euros). The operating result in the 3rd quarter 2007 improved by more than 60% to just under 0.7 million euros (3rd quarter 2006: 0.4 million euros). In the first nine months of the year the new orders increased to 103 million euros (9 months 2006: 100 million euros) and the EBIT to 2.5 million euros (9 months 2006: 15 KEUR).
The third quarter result was primarily driven by the segment Production Management (industry and logistics solutions). In the segment Energy Management the quarter was characterized by investments in new functions for the control of high-voltage networks, which were made in the context of a strategically important pilot project. With that, PSI has a complete portfolio for electrical network providers, especially in export.
The government activities EITCO and RISER, sold in the middle of the year, were, for the first time in the 3rd quarter, not included in the new orders and results. The number of employees decreased by 70 as a result of the sale of these activities and with the approximately 40 new hires, the total is now 1,014 (30 September 2006: 1,046).
Management expects, as in the previous years, that the 4th quarter will be strong and that the forecasts to date for new orders (125 million) und EBIT (3 million euros) will be clearly exceeded.
PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, water, heat), cross-company production management (steel, automotive, mechanical engineering, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs more than 1,000 persons in the group.
