PSI Awarded Additional Important Contract in Chinese Steel Sector

...Chinese PSI subsidiary, PSI Information Technology (Shanghai) Co, Ltd. has been awarded by the steel producer Shougang Jingtang Steel Company with the delivery of a comprehensive Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for the steel mill, the hot rolling mill and the cold rolling mill at its new site on the Caofeidian peninsula of the Hebei province.

The production management system is based on the industry solution PSImetals and includes the functional areas APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling), ALS (Advanced Line Sequencing), PES (Production Execution System) and PSIintegration for the linking of the MES to the SAP system.

Shougang Jingtang, China’s third largest steel producer will start the production in autumn, after moving from its Beijing site to the Caofeidian peninsula about 200 kilometers southeast of the capital. Caofeidian is connected with the mainland via a newly constructed 18-kilometer long gravel road.

PSI has been represented in the Chinese market with a subsidiary and orders from the largest steel producers since 2005. With the order from Shougang, PSI has obtained an important follow-up order from China and therewith continues its growth in the international steel industry...
