PSI Receives Additional Order from OAO Gazprom
Control system software for the northern European gas transportation trunk line
Berlin, 20 December 2010 – PSI has been contracted by the Gazprom subsidiary OJSC “Gazavtomatika“ OJSC “Gazprom“ with the delivery of the software for the control system of the northern European gas transportation trunk line (Nord Stream onshore). Nord Stream onshore is supposed to supply the planned Baltic Sea pipeline on the Russian mainland with natural gas from the Yamal peninsula. With this strategically important order, Gazprom has reemphasized its decision to use PSI control systems for new investments in the gas transportation business.
The current contract consists of the initial delivery for Nord Stream onshore with dispatching centres in St. Petersburg and Uchta as well as two compressor stations, including the Portovaya compressor station right on the Baltic Sea. Software for an additional five compressor stations is foreseen for subsequent delivery stages.
With the use of PSIcontrol V7 Gazprom will have highly efficient, hierarchically structured control systems for the control of the gas transportation in strategically important gas transportation pipelines. PSIcontrol V7 is planned for both the realisation of cross-pipeline dispatching centres as well as for the local control system levels below them. Additional concrete work is currently being performed on the Bovanenko–Uchta–Torshok gas transportation pipeline. An order for the Baidaratskaya compressor station has already been placed in the course of this.
Gazavtomatika is the general contractor and responsible system integrator for the realisation of the projects based on the PSI software. Beyond that, PSI is also supporting Gazavtomatika conceptually in the development of the system solutions and is assuming the training of the Gazavtomatika engineers for the product-specific know-how of the PSI software employed. The PSI gas and oil business has a long history of cooperation with Gazavtomatika, for which a partnership agreement was concluded in 2009.
PSI AG develops and integrates complete solutions, on the basis of its own software products, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, heat, water), cross-company production management (metals, automotive, mechanical and plant engineering, mining, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and employs 1,400 persons in the group.
