PSI successfully concludes major network management projects
Initial operation commences for new products aimed at the mobile network and gas markets
Berlin, 7 July 2004 – PSI AG has received technical approval for the first projects based on the company’s new network management products PSImccm and PSIcontrol V7. Both of these innovations were developed in conjunction with leading customers in the telecommunication and gas sectors, which are the target markets for these new products. The successful start-up of the new products sees PSI opening up new business potential in network management.
PSImccm (Mobile Common Configuration Management) is a cross-technology, multi-vendor configuration management tool for GSM and UMTS which was developed by PSI based on a TeleManagement Forum catalyst project. The new tool provides effective support for mobile network operators faced with the complexity of parallel GSM and UMTS infrastructures.
The new generation of the PSIcontrol control system, developed together with major gas and oil suppliers, was launched last autumn. The system offers a range of new functions designed to deal with the enhanced requirements of the liberalized gas market. The first implementation of the new PSIcontrol generation has been up and running round the clock since June 2004; it comprises the functions network management, simulation and dispatch planning. The successful conclusion of these two major products has led to a significant improvement in the risk structure of PSI’s Network Management segment.
PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of large networks (electricity, gas, oil, telecommunications, transport), cross-company production management (steel, chemicals, machinery, automotive, logistics) and information management for government and service providers. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs 1,150 persons in the group.
