PSI Increases EBIT and Liquid Funds in First Quarter
Berlin, 16 April 2008 – The PSI Group increased its EBIT to 1.3 million euros in the first quarter of 2008 (1st quarter of 2007: 0.9 million euros). At 36 million euros, new orders were at about the same level as for the same quarter of the previous year and significantly better than in the 4th quarter of 2007 (1st quarter of 2007: 38 million euros, 4th quarter of 2007: 29 million euros). New orders for the 1st quarter of 2007 included about 2 million euros from the government business which was sold in the middle of 2007. Liquid funds increased by more than 7 million euros to 21 million euros (31 March 2007: 13.9 million euros) compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
PSI entered into the new quarter with a strong volume of new orders of over 10 million euros in April and therefore expects a strong development of business for the second quarter and an expansion of the successful export business with a focus on Russia. The group expects new major orders, in particular in the business areas of heavy industry and energy, and is considering the short-term expansion of its strong market position by means of targeted acquisitions. In the electricity segment, PSI is establishing a joint venture with a large Russian software importer.
PSI AG develops and integrates individual solutions, on the basis of its own software, for the management of energy networks (electricity, gas, oil, water, heat), cross-company production management (steel, mechanical engineering, automotive, logistics) and infrastructure management for telecommunications, transport and safety. PSI was founded in 1969 and currently employs more than 1,000 persons in the group.
